Amanda Sue McGee Brown, 82, of Elberton Hwy., Hartwell, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson, S.C.
Born on April 16, 1938 in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Reid McGee and Jessie Lillian Hamby McGee. Mrs. Brown was a retired seamstress and a member of the Bio Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Gideon's International Auxiliary Hart Co. Camp. 
Survivors include her son, Rev. Dale Hart (Lisa); three daughters: Gale Harbin, Sandra Powell (Billy), Donna Brown (Richard); one sister, Peggy Glover; grandchildren: Jamie Land, Amy Johnson, Kim Vaughter, Shannon Junkins, Haley Gurley, Jessica Eaton, Jaron Hart, Julianna Sharpe, Jaylin Hart, Karis Brown, Cason Brown, Kimbrell Brown, Cole Brown, Kamryn Brown, Nona Brown, Maxwell Brown, Jessie Brown and Martha Brown. Also she was blessed with 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Maxwell Brown; sister, Nellie Baugus; brothers: Jessie Reid "JR" McGee and Thomas Pringle McGee.
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 30, at the Bio Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Zaboroskie officiating. Everyone will be asked to practice Social Distancing and may want to bring a lawn chair.
