Miss Makenzie Grace Hughes, age 16, of Lavonia, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Elberton. 
Makenzie was born in Anderson, S.C., on April 1, 2005. She loved horses, art/drawing, her family, shopping and hanging out with her friends. 
She is survived by her parents, David P. Floyd and Tammy Hughes Floyd of Lavonia; siblings: Ethan Brown and Kaycee Floyd; grandparents: Tim (Diane) Hughes of Elberton, Brenda Isom of Lavonia, Doug Floyd of Lavonia, Bobby (Robbie) Brown of Hartwell, Jean Conwell, Norris Conwell (Sandra Adams) of Hartwell; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends also survive. 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 14, from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Grant Myerholtz officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
