Jenny Martin, a special education teacher, earned the honor for Hartwell Elementary School.
Emilee Patrick, a fifth-grade English and language arts teacher, won Teacher of the Year at North Hart Elementary School.

These five teachers will move on to an interview process with judges from various counties within the state, on Nov. 4, and a Teacher of the Year for the county school system will then be named at a Teacher of the Year luncheon on Nov. 15.
Teachers of the Year are nominated and voted upon by their peers and principal. To be eligible, they must be certified classroom teachers in public school in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Special education, physical education, art and music teachers, media specialists and ROTC teachers are all eligible.
