The Hart County Charter System is saddened to share the passing of longtime Hart County Middle School custodian Ms. Annie Ruth Teasley, 83, who passed away July 15.
For more than 27 years, Ms. Annie Ruth Teasley faithfully served the students, staff, and families of Hart County, becoming a beloved fixture of the Hart County Middle School community. Though her title was custodian, those who knew her understood that her impact reached far beyond caring for the building she helped make feel like home.
"Since 1999, Ms. Annie Ruth served the students of Hart County with unmatched devotion," Hart County Middle School (HCMS) Principal Jacqueline Brock said. "Over her 27 years of dedicated service as a custodian, she did so much more than care for our building—she cared deeply for every student, teacher and staff member who walked through our doors. Everyone loved Annie Ruth because she poured that love right back into us, sharing a warmth and kindness that was impossible to miss. We will forever cherish her caring spirit, her bright smile and the countless ways she made HCMS feel like home. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love remains in our hearts."
Custodial Services Manager Kenny Teasley reflected on the lasting impression Ms. Annie Ruth Teasley left on those around her.
"Annie Ruth's laughter and her kind heart were among her greatest strengths," Teasley said. "She was a woman who had walked through many experiences in her lifetime, and I admired her because she understood the value of people and the importance of family. Even when she spoke with her voice, she allowed her heart to lead her actions. If I needed someone to take on a task or help others, I could always count on Annie Ruth because I knew she would respond with honesty, compassion and wisdom gained through her life experiences. Her years of service to the Hart County Charter System will never be forgotten. You served well, Ms. Annie Ruth."
Ms. Annie Ruth Teasley's kindness, dedication and servant's heart touched generations of students and staff members during her years of service. Her memory and the love she shared with others will continue to be felt throughout the Hart County community for years to come.
The Hart County Charter System extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Annie Ruth's family, friends, and all those whose lives she impacted. We ask our community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
