Hart County Charter System
The Hart County Charter System is pleased to announce upcoming registration information for both Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year. Families are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and attend the appropriate registration event to ensure a smooth enrollment process.
Pre-Kindergarten Registration
Pre-K classes will be available at Hartwell Elementary School, North Hart Elementary School and South Hart Elementary School, with transportation provided for students within their attendance zones.
Children must be four years old on or before Sept. 1 and must be a resident of Georgia to be eligible to register for Pre-K.
Registration will take place Monday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, April 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hart County Agriscience Center located at 1951 Bowman Highway.
A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available April 20 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Due to limited availability, Pre-K slots will be filled through a lottery process. Children must be present at registration.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration will take place at each student’s zoned elementary school and will include readiness assessments and health screenings.
Children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible for Kindergarten.
Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the following dates at the following schools:
• Tuesday, April 21 – Hartwell Elementary School;
• Wednesday, April 22 – North Hart Elementary School; and
• Thursday, April 23 – South Hart Elementary School.
A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available each day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Families should plan for the process to take an hour or more. Activities will include readiness testing as well as hearing, dental, BMI, vision and speech screenings.
Children must be present at registration.
Required documents (both Pre-K and Kindergarten)
Parents/guardians should bring:
• Child’s original birth certificate;
• Child’s Social Security card;
• Georgia Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231);
• Proof of residency; and
• Parent/guardian photo ID.
Additional documents may include:
• Custody or guardianship paperwork (if applicable); and
• Proof of public assistance (Pre-K only, if applicable)
Kindergarten students should also have received required school booster shots or be in the process of receiving them.
Families should begin the registration process online by visiting www.hart.k12.ga.us/parents/enrollment; however, in-person attendance is required to complete enrollment. Parents with students already enrolled in the district may also use the Parent Portal to begin registration.
