School system’s Summer Meal Program now serving local youth

The Hart County Charter System is proud to announce the dates, times and locations for the 2025 Summer Meal Program, designed to ensure children in our community have access to nutritious meals during the summer months.

The program will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during two periods: June 2–12 and July 7–16, with additional on-site service available from June 16–27.

A mobile meal delivery service will run on scheduled days with multiple community stop locations providing meals at designated times.

This service ensures that children across Hart County can easily access free meals at locations near their homes.

Meals are available to all children ages 18 and under at no cost. Below is the schedule of mobile meal delivery services:

Remaining delivery locations and times include: June 5, 9, 10 and 12 and July: 7, 8, 10, 14, 15 and 16 at:

• Sardis Baptist Church (4359 Anderson Highway) – 10:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

• Rome Street Apartments (67 Rome St.) – 10:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.

• Hart County High School parking lot (59 Fifth St.) – 11:05 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

• Sanders Circle (641 Mt. Olivet Road) – 11:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

• HYDRA (located inside the old rec department at 200 Clay St.) – 11:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

• Crossroads Baptist Church (3636 Lavonia Highway) – 11:45 a.m. to noon.

• Leard Street (70 Ware St.) – 12:10 p.m. to 12:20 p.m.

• Bio Church Fire Deptartment (3227 Bio Church Road) – 12:30 p.m. to 12:40 p.m.

• Skelton Homes (134 Skelton Homes Circle) – 12:50 p.m. to 1 p.m.

On-site meals will also be served at Hartwell Elementary and Hart County Middle School from June 16 through June 27, with breakfast served from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

“We are committed to supporting the health and well-being of our students year-round,” Courtney Hart, Hart County Charter System director of school nutrition said. “Our summer meal program helps bridge the nutrition gap when school is not in session.”
