A Hartwell native will begin a 2,198.4 mile journey on the Appalachian Trail over the course of five months with the intent to share the gospel along the way.
Hartwell native Julie George found her interest in hiking when she and her son went on a backpack trip.
“Our family has always enjoyed hiking,” George said. “My son went on a couple of backpacking trips, and it sparked an interest in me as well.”
