A person has been announced missing in the water near Paynes Creek according to the Hart County Sheriff’s office Oct. 11.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office released a press release Oct. 11 at 9 a.m. saying that on Oct. 10 around 4:30 p.m., they had received information that a person was missing in the water near Paynes Creek Campground. Along with the Sheriff’s department, Georgia DNR, Hart County EMS, Hart County Fire and Hart County Emergency Management all responded to the scene.
Boats were deployed according to the press release, as they used sonar equipment and underwater remote-operated vehicles. Crews searched for the missing subject up into the night of Oct. 10. The search continued the morning of Oct. 11.
