Sheriff: 2 dead in shooting; Man charged with 2 counts of felony murder

*UPDATE* (9:30 p.m. Tuesday)

Sheriff Mike Cleveland and investigator Chris Carroll reported to The Sun that Morris Maurice Norwood, 59, has been charged with two counts of felony murder in the shooting deaths of Jerece Teasley, 26, and Alexius Spencer, 25.
Norwood is being booked late Tuesday evening. Motive and other details remain under investigation.

Sheriff Mike Cleveland confirmed Tuesday morning that the two victims killed along Redwine Church Road were Jerece Teasley, 26, and Alexius Spencer, 25.

Cleveland said each victim was shot several times. Teasley died upon deputies' arrival. Spencer died in an ambulance within minutes.

"We have picked up and interviewed two persons of interest and for the time being, these people are released," Cleveland said.

"My investigators and the GBI were up all night last night. We still need some information from out there in the public."

*UPDATE* (7:00 p.m.)

A suspect taken into custody Monday afternoon at South Hart Elementary in connection to the shooting death of two people in the area of Airline-Goldmine Road has been released, according to Sheriff Mike Cleveland, due to insufficient evidence.

When asked if he believes a shooter is still at large: "We did not have enough to hold him. That's not to say we're through with him but we did not have enough to hold him," Cleveland said.

Sheriff Mike Cleveland confirmed that a suspect is in custody related to the Airline-Goldmine shooting. The man was arrested outside South Hart Elementary School. Cleveland declined to release the man's identity at this time and said the investigation is still under way. Cleveland said there is currently no threat to the public.

A shooting has been reported near the intersection of Red Wine Church Road and Airline-Goldmine Road near Royston.

Sheriff Mike Cleveland said two victims were shot. One was found dead upon arrival at the scene and another was transported with injuries. Law enforcement is searching for a suspect. Cleveland believes the incident was "personal" and does not believe the suspect is a major threat to the public.
