Teaching is a family tradition for Kathleen Teel.
Her grandfather, grandmother, great aunts and her mother were all teachers. It should come as no surprise then that Teel is now in her 22nd year as an educator, and she is getting noticed for it.
Teel was named by her peers as South Hart Elementary’s teacher of the year.
“My grandfather, grandmother, great aunts and mom were all teachers,” Teel said. “I played school as a child and always wanted to teach. I have had several teachers that made an impact on my life. I may not remember what they taught, but I remember how they made me feel.”
