Nestlé Purina PetCare (NPPC) Hartwell is proud to announce a recent donation of several bags of Pro Plan® All Ages Sport Performance 30/20 Chicken and Rice Formula to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Nestlé Purina Hartwell is celebrating the incredible bond shared between people and their pets, including the law enforcement and their dog counter-parts.
“We’re honored to contribute to the well-being of the Hartwell K9 unit,”Chris Johnson, factory manager at NPPC Hartwell said. “These dogs perform demanding tasks every day, and it’s important they have the right fuel to keep them in peak condition.”
In an exciting parallel to the canine companions of the HCSO, the Hartwell factory has a unique team member of its own—SPOT, a robotic dog developed by Boston Dynamics. SPOT recently made an appearance at the facility, with Johnson and Assistant Factory Manager Karl Winker providing a demonstration of its capabilities to the deputies visiting the factory.
“Whether it’s service dogs or robotic innovations, we’re inspired by the many ways dogs—real and robotic—support safety, performance and progress,” Johnson said.
NPPC Hartwell is proud to support local heroes, both human and canine, and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the HCSO through future donations and community involvement.

Sheriff Chris Carroll said Tuesday the food donated from the partnership with Purina will go towards feeding the two patrol dogs and bloodhound in the K-9 unit as well as an upcoming fourth dog the HCSO is set to receive in September thanks to a donation from local resident Matt Denton.
“A huge thank you to [Purina] for supporting the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and our K-9 program,” Carroll said. “I look forward to working with them in the future.”
