Ministry offers need-based assistance

Hart Interdenominational Ministry recently received a grant from Walmart Giving to help Hart County residents with rent, or mortgage payments or a night in a local motel if they are temporarily homeless.

The $300 Shelter for All grant will be combined with other funding sources by the ministry to operate the program.

Ministry officials said with churches closed, and donations down because of the pandemic, there are still residents in need of assistance, primarily with rent and utility bills.

Used judiciously and with other funding, ministry officials believe there is enough to help up to six families.
