The United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary, and patriotic events and decorations will abound this summer at Northeast Georgia’s beautiful lakes.

Lake Living magazine is looking for patriotic photos that celebrate the nation’s anniversary at the lake. One selected photo will be featured on the cover of the magazine’s summer 2026 edition.

Lake Living is a full-color regional guide to Northeast Georgia’s lakes. Local photographers are asked to submit their photographic representations of these lakes.

Subjects can include points of interest, natural features, scenic views or people enjoying the lakes. During this semiquincentennial year, special consideration will be given to photos with a patriotic theme. The magazine publishes the week of June 22 and will be distributed at visitor centers, chambers of commerce and retail outlets throughout the region during summer.

The winner of the cover contest will receive $100.

The photograph must be taken at a lake in Elbert, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union or White counties.

The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Monday, June 8.
