Cyber security summit coming to Hartwell

A CyberArch Summit is planned for Oct. 11 at the Hart County Agriscience Center. Small businesses, government employees, board of education employees and industry professionals are invited to attend. Registration will be limited to the first 50 people. Hart Telephone Company is sponsoring the lunch prepared by the Hart College and Carer Academy culinary students.
The theme of the day will be “creating a cyber-aware community” and will feature several speakers and activities designed to help companies and governments safely guard their information and data. The group will learn the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cyber framework, guidelines and best practices to manage cybersecurity-related risk.
Representatives from the Georgia Technology Authority, HTC, the insurance industry and others will be there to share their expertise and provide suggestions for attendees looking to help secure their or their company’s data.
“I would like to reiterate to each of our business and industry leaders the importance of cyber security, and urge as many as possible to participate in learning best practices to protect their enviable positions as world-class operations,” said Dwayne Dye, director of the Hart Industrial Building Authority.
