The Hart County Community Garden needs help putting a fence around its garden plots to keep out deer.
The  garden, located on Benson St., is set up to give people who don’t have a place to garden the opportunity to rent out a small plot for the growing season. The Hart County Poverty Task Force also hopes to be able to use the garden to provide fresh produce for less-fortunate people.
The fence is estimated to cost $3,100. The garden would need approximately 500 feet of a seven-foot tall, deer fence.
Garden organizers are asking  for donations from the community to help cover the costs. Anyone wishing to support the garden can call Frank Spenger at 706-436-6648 or email him at fspenger@gmail.com.
