The Hart County Botanical Garden has been selected as the October business of the month by the Hart County Chamber of Commerce. The Hart County Botanical Garden, 1277 Elberton Hwy, is a seven-acre natural wonderland featuring 17 specialty gardens, a large covered pavilion, an open air amphitheater, an extensive children’s play area, two wooden arbors and a small fountain. The garden is a Poke Stop for Pokeman Go players, an official Geocaching.com/Georgia Geocachers Association geocache site offering two caches and a destination for painted rocks. The most recent addition to the garden is a Little Free Library, registered through the international littlefreelibrary.org as Charter 90056. Another recent and popular addition to the HCBG is Mamaw’s House and the Heritage Garden/Bird Sanctuary. It is free and open to the public daily, year-round. The garden is maintained solely by volunteers has 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.
