"Pete" Craft
John Milton "Pete" Craft, 90, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson, S.C.
Born on April 20, 1930 in Hartwell, he was the son of the late John W. Craft and Mary Skelton Craft. Mr. Craft was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass, a retired school bus driver for the Hart County School System and a retired Courier for The Hartwell Sun. He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690 and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Mr. Craft also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Burns Craft of the home; a son, William Craft (Tammy) of Canon; a daughter, Doris Fields (Doug) of Cumming; a brother, Tommy Craft of Hartwell; two sisters: Yetive Davenport of Hartwell and Mary Buchanan of Hoschton; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marie Vaughn and three brothers: Dalton Grizzle, Gene Grizzle and Jack Grizzle.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Jason Webb and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with Military and Masonic Rites.
