Lona Brown
Lona Rooks Brown, 82, of Sunnybrook Lane, Hartwell, Ga., widow of Attorney Ellis Ray Brown Sr., went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 30, 2021 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 14, 1939 in Conyers, Ga. to the late William M. Rooks and Ethel V. Norton Rooks. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, past president of Pink Ladies Auxiliary, and past president of Morrow Jr. Women's Club. 
Ms. Brown is survived by Sandra Brown Ivey (Ron Carter) of Covington, Ga., Ellis Ray Brown Jr. of Covington, Pete (Sandra) Brown of Hartwell, sister; Linda Hanson of LaGrange, Ga. She was the proud Noma to seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Logan Brown and sister, Janice Freeland. 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 2, in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with the Rev. Terry Meeks officiating. Entombment was held at the Brown Family Cemetery Mausoleum.
Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell was in charge of arrangements.
