Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project.
The date of location and design approval is: May 5, 2020
The project is to replace the existing bridge on SR 77 Spur over Cedar Creek and includes roadway reconstruction on the approaches north and south of the bridge. It is located approximately 7.5 miles southeast of Hartwell in Hart County and entirely within Georgia Militia District (GMD) 1114.
The proposed typical section for the roadway approaches consist of a 2-lane rural roadway, 12-ft. travel lanes with 10-ft. shoulders (4-ft. paved) on each side. The proposed bridge is 265-ft. long and would consist of a 2-lane section with 12-ft. travel lanes and 8-ft. shoulders. The total length of this project would be approximately 0.3-miles. Traffic will be maintained on an off-site detour for approximately 12-months during construction of the project.
