Bobby Ray Ramsey, 85, of Old 29 Highway, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home.
Born on July 30, 1935 in Danielsville, he was the son of the late Lovic Ramsey and Bernice Smith Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey received a two-year degree from Athens Tech in HVAC and was employed with USDA at Southeastern Poultry Research Lab as a maintenance worker. He was a member of the Milltown Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Lenora Brown Ramsey; one son, Steve Ramsey (Jan) of Elberton; two daughters: Renee Teal of McCaysville and Gail Ramsey of Royston; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Byron L. Ramsey.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with the Rev. Adam Tripp officiating.
