M. Beverly Williamson Gibbons, passed away July 25, 2021. She was born October 17, 1940, to the late Marion Osborne Williamson and Margie Banks Williamson of Orangeburg, S.C. She was the widow of I. McDowell "Mac" Gibbons, Jr. 
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday July 29, in the Chapel of Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, Orangeburg, with the Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Private interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the vestibule of Dukes-Harley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gibbons was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and Columbia College with B.A. degrees in English and Spanish and later, her Master's degree. Her 26 years as a secondary teacher in Orangeburg, were exemplary. She was dedicated to her profession, and in 1978 she was selected at the "Outstanding Instructor" by the Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College Student Government Association.
In 1990, she retired from the classroom when she and her husband moved from Orangeburg, to Hartwell, where he became the Director of Engineering for Hart Communications, Inc. for 20 years. She was a member of Hartwell First United Methodist Church and the Hartwell Service League. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren who knew her as their "Gams." She and her husband formed many lasting friendships in Hartwell.
Mrs. Gibbons was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mac Gibbons. They were married almost 60 years. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. M. Logan Gibbons, and wife Jennifer, of Chester, S.C.; Judge Brian M. Gibbons, and wife, Lorena, of Chester; six grandchildren: Logan, Mason, Hunter, Mitchell, Hannah, and Marshall; and three sisters.
