A tropical storm swirling its way toward Southern Florida could mean more rain for Northeast Georgia on Labor Day and into next week, but isn’t likely to cause major problems, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
Tropical Storm Dorian was expected as of Wednesday morning to make landfall in the U.S. around Daytona, Fla. sometime on Monday as a Category 2 hurricane. Once that happens, it is likely to slow down as it creeps up the coast and turn into more of a rain event than anything else, said Doug Outlaw of the weather service in Greenville.
