Margaret Smith Crump, 80, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Park Place Nursing & Rehab in Monroe.
Born on June 30, 1940 in Anderson, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Landy Earl Smith and Frances Day Smith. Mrs. Crump was a retired Human Resources Manager for the Hartwell Company and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  
Survivors include two daughters: Sandy Briscoe (Don) of Covington and Ashley Martin (Brad) of Atlanta; one brother, Charles Smith of Anderson; seven grandchildren: Laura Briscoe, Katie Briscoe, Matthew Briscoe, Avery Martin, Will Martin, Jake Martin and Ryan Crump; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Crump; two sons: Jim Crump and Steven Crump; one daughter, Dianne Seawright; one brother, Jimmy Smith and one sister, Mary Ann McGill. 
    A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in the chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with the Rev. Jason Webb officiating.
