Maggie Hayes Moorhead, 87, of Reed Creek Highway, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home.
Born on September 9, 1932 in Hartwell, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Bennie Carl Hayes and Annie Mae Lewis Hayes. Mrs. Moorhead was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Moorhead Builders. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Gideons Auxiliary Hart Co. Camp. 
Survivors include two sons: Terry Gene Moorhead (Teresa) of Monroe and David Moorhead (Christine) of Grayson; one daughter, Diane M. Owen (Barry) of Brown Summit, N.C.; four sisters: Betty Crump (Bobby) of Anderson, S.C., Carlene Roper of Hartwell, Yvonne Edwards (Morgan) of Hull and Helen McMullan of Griffin; eight grandchildren: Heather Morris (Brent), Casey Owen (Leslie), Tiffany Standridge (Cole), Kevin Banks (Heather), Kelcey Bednarski (Michael), Luke Moorhead, Aaron Moorhead (Alydia) and Emily Moorhead; and seven great-grandchildren: Hunter Womack, Oliver Standridge, Alissa Standridge, Harper Owen, Tanner Owen, Millie Banks, and Beau Banks. Mrs. Moorhead was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Talmadge Moorhead; one grandson, Brett Moorhead; and four sisters: Louise Pearson, Janelle Cleveland, Clara Bell Cleveland and Lorene York.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, at the First Baptist Church of Hartwell with Dr. Steve Albanese and Rev. Barry Owen officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Gideon's International, Hart Co. Camp, P.O. Box 59, Hartwell, GA 30643.
