Mrs. Judith Mae Gammell "Judy" Cross, 75, of Swan Sanders Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at her home.
Born on June 8, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter Omar Gammell and Esta Mae Cartwright Gammell. Mrs. Cross was a homemaker, formerly worked in retail department stores and as an aide at an Assisted Living Center and she made the best chocolate chip cookies.
Judy was married to Franklin A Cross for 56 years. Surviving family members include her husband; two daughters: Laura Howard West of Peachtree Corners, Ga. and Kathy Reed (husband, Steve) of Greenville, S.C.; a son, Frank Cross II of Chesapeake, Va.; and five grandchildren: Nick, Tyler, Sam, Jake and Michael.
A celebration of life for Judy will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, at the family home.  
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
