James Edward Maxwell
James Edward Maxwell, 76, of Curt Bailey Road, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. 
He was born June 28, 1944 in Charleston, S.C., to Donald Lee Maxwell and Margaret Smith Maxwell. He was a retired upholster, a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and he attended River of Life Church. 
He is survived by daughters: Cindy Maxwell Byrum of Hartwell, Cheryl Maxwell Morris of Hartwell and Kim Maxwell Head of Toccoa; brother, Billy Maxwell of Hartwell; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings: Charlene Bolt, Jannie McAbee, Pam Boston, Jean Whiten, Charley Maxwell and Donald Maxwell, Jr. 
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Buffington officiating. 
Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
