David Joseph Sewell 
David Joseph Sewell, 78, of Lavonia, passed away April 11, 2021. 
The son of the late Hugh and Helen Sewell, David was born June 21, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a 1960 graduate of Lavonia High School and was an Eagle Scout. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Georgia and his MBA from the University of Georgia. Prior to retirement he worked for Wayne Farms in Pendergrass. He was an active member of Lavonia First Baptist Church, the Lavonia Lions Club and a volunteer for Franklin County Habitat for Humanity. He was a loving father, grandfather, a good friend to many and always ready to tell a good joke. 
Survivors include daughter, Lyn Sewell and her fiancé Kim Blackwell, daughter Joanne Sewell Nelson and son-in-law Patrick, daughter Dorothy Sewell Price and son-in-law Don, former spouse and the mother of his daughters, Sue Sewell, also originally from Lavonia; five grandchildren Alexander Nelson, Victoria Glover, Trenton Glover, Preston Price and Anna Price; sister, Emily Hall and brother-in-law Larry; nephew Charles Hall and wife Lee and their daughters Peyton and Callie; nephew Scott Hall and his daughter Annabel; and his beloved Australian Cattle dog, named Honey. 
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Lavonia First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. 
In remembrance of David, the family asks that donations be made to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, the Franklin County Habitat for Humanity and/or the Lavonia First Baptist Church.
