Oconee, Stephens will join Region 8-AAA

The highly-anticipated Georgia High School Association’s reclassification and region alignment lists for 2020-2022 are out — bringing plenty of changes that affect Hart County and Region 8-AAA.

Though Hart County will remain in 8-AAA, some of the school’s region foes have moved elsewhere.

The Jefferson Dragons are moving up to AAAA after a one-year stint in 8-AAA. While in the region, they claimed a state title in wrestling duals last year, went to the final four in boys’ and girls’ soccer and made a final four appearance in boys’ tennis, among other athletic accomplishments.
