James Thomas McGukin, Sr., 66, of 508 McGukin Road, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born August 9, 1951 in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Thomas and Lorene Wicker McGukin. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. He was a member of Ruhamah United Methodist Church and The Shepherds Chapel with Pastor Murray.
Surviving are his wife, Thao McGukin of the home; son, Tommy McGukin; two daughters, Kim Garrison and Mary Faith McGukin all of Starr, S.C.; two grandchildren, Korbyn McGukin and Jillaina Garrison; three step-grandchildren, Mason Scroggs, So'Fia Scroggs and Ky'Lee Wells and a sister, Ann Kelley of Iva, S.C.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 4 at Ruhamah United Methodist Church. The family received friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ruhamah United Methodist Church, 116 Ruhamah Church Road, Starr, SC 29684.
