Harold M. Bailey, 91, of Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born on September 16, 1927 in Hartwell, he was the son of the late Claude H. Bailey and Lola Motes Bailey. Mr. Bailey was retired from the Hartwell Coca Cola Bottling Company, where he was a route salesman. He also was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, McDoyle Sunday School Class, Forever Young, former deacon and usher, former RA leader, cook for the Brotherhood Men's Group and church bus driver. Mr. Bailey was a U. S. Army WW II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Lettie Mae Rousey Vickery Bailey; three step-daughters: Martha Bryan of Roswell, Helen Mize of Dewy Rose and Bonnie Wilson of Liberty, S.C.; a brother, Herman Bailey of Hartwell; five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilene Brown Bailey; a son, Tony Bailey and two sisters, Etta Mae Bailey and Opal Elrod.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Webb and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
