Downtown Hartwell
Creating more housing, encouraging downtown business development and renovating aging assets are among Hartwell Mayor Brandon Johnson’s wishes for 2020.
After a busy 2019, Johnson said he is excited for what the new year will hold for the city of Hartwell.
“I am very hopeful that we are going to continue to build on the momentum we’ve created the last few years,” Johnson said.
Johnson listed four things he is excited about Hartwell improving in the new year: more housing, more downtown business, Hartwell Lakeside and renovations to the train depot.
“We do have several housing projects in the works that we are hoping will materialize,” Johnson said. “Downtown also picked up quite a bit (in 2019). We still have some vacant buildings and we’re very hopeful that a couple of those will be filled.”
