Local man convicted of vehicular homicide

A man accused of killing an unborn child in a traffic accident in 2016 was convicted of vehicular homicide, among other traffic charges, on Wednesday in Hart County Superior Court.
Mikal Ean McLane was found guilty of first-degree homicide by vehicle in a bench trial that ended around noon Wednesday, Nov. 20. McLane received a 15 year sentence. Three of those years will be spent in prison.
The presiding judge, Thomas Hodges, found McLane not guilty of DUI and not guilty of a separate charge of vehicular homicide related to the DUI charge.
