Patricia Scott Cooper
Ms. Patricia Scott Cooper, 74, passed away August 22, 2020 after a brief battle with COVID-19 pneumonia. She was born July 16, 1946 in Memphis, Tenn., to the late John A Cooper, Sr. and Dorothy Gough Cooper. Pat was a devout Catholic and former member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
Pat lived much of her adult life at St. Peter Manor in Memphis. At the Manor, Pat enjoyed her independence, crafts of all kind, outings for shopping and lunch, chats with her buddies and Memphis First Responders she met along the way. Pat loved sports and made "her team" known to those around her. She was an avid fan of University of Memphis Tiger basketball, Atlanta Braves and Clemson Tigers football. Pat served her Memphis community by volunteering in the office at Turning Point mental health center and was a helpful friend to her neighbors at the Manor.
In 2018 Pat became a "Georgia Peach" by moving to Hartwell, Ga. She enjoyed the many family holidays and Lake Hartwell adventures with her sister, Anne Cooper Porterfield (Wink) and her niece, Alethea Cooper (Brad).  Pat is also survived by her beloved brothers, Dr. John A Cooper, (Patsy Haley) of Memphis and Thomas G Cooper (Susan Koffman) of Wayland MA and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial in Memphis Calvary Cemetery.
To honor Pat, please be a part of the solution to fighting COVID-19. Wear a mask, wash hands frequently and social distance. Take care of yourself,  your family and your community.
Batts & Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, Ga. is in charge of the arrangements.
