Cancellation of Elbert/Hart Football Game

Blue Devil Nation,

It is with great regret that I share with you the official announcement of cancellation for the Elbert County Comprehensive High School vs. Hart County High School, Varsity Football Game, scheduled for Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Historic Granite Bowl.

As we have all either personally experienced, or as we have been witness to, the impact of the Covid-19 virus, we have noted that this medical concern is far reaching, and it does not discriminate.  Unfortunately, this virus has found its way to the ECCHS Campus, and has directly impacted our Blue Devil coaching staff, and players.

In an effort to ensure that ECCHS follows Department of Public Health guidelines, all individuals impacted through either a positive test result, and/or through contact tracing, have been instructed to quarantine at this time.  Their required absence certainly puts the remaining members of our coaching staff and football team at risk, and it would not be wise to have them participate at this time.

Although regionally the Elbert/Hart Football Game is one that many look forward to all spring and summer, this contest cannot be viewed with greater emphasis than the health and well-being of all of our student athletes and coaches.

Pre-sale tickets secured from the ECCHS Athletic Office will be honored for admission at a future Blue Devil  home football game.

I thank you for your flexibility and understanding during this uncertain time and I appreciate your support of ECCHS and Blue Devil Athletics.
