A new team of Bulldogs will take the court this season — attempting to reignite the fire from last year that blazed a trail to a 24-8 (9-3) run to the state championship game.

The Hart County High School boys basketball team hit the practice court this week to get ready for the rapidly approaching season after graduating five seniors a year ago and becoming state runners up.

“We’d like to build on that, but we graduated five guys,” head coach Harry Marsh told The Hartwell Sun on Tuesday at practice. “In a lot of ways, we’ve got  a totally new team.”

But Marsh, a veteran coach who claimed a state title with Hart County in 1986 and returned to the Bulldogs last year, looks at the program as a whole and its tradition, not just one particular team.
