The dog park at the Hart County Sports and Recreation Complex was dedicated to a former Hart County commissioner who had a soft spot for dogs and worked to bring the park to fruition.
The Dan W. Reyen Memorial Dog Park was unveiled on Sept. 5, complete with a sign memorializing Reyen’s contributions and shade trees donated by the Hartwell Service League and planted by John Shearouse.
“Dan done a lot for Hart County,” said county commissioner R.C. Oglesby. “Whether daylight, rain or shine, thunder, Dan would come out and do something for you.”
