Deputies Chuck, Sena and newcomer Parker Jean are on the case at the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
The four-legged deputies, whose noses are their greatest assets, recently received certification to continue their roles in local law enforcement.
Chuck, along with his handler deputy Josh Fowler, and Sena, accompanied by her handler deputy Steve Williams, traveled to Perry last week where they put their sniffers to the test and went through various training exercises to be recertified as K-9 units. Williams said 293 dogs, of varying breeds, were in attendance from all over the state and country. Last year a dog from Australia even attended the conference, Williams said.
