Depot Street paving is scheduled to begin this week. City manager Jon Herschell is optimistic that the street will be finished by the Mayor’s Monster Mash, barring any setbacks.
The reconstruction is ahead of schedule, according to Herschell, largely due to the dry weather we have been having. Whether the road will be completed by Halloween will also be dependent on the weather, he said.
“The only thing that would delay us at this point would be weather,” Herschell said. “It can’t be too wet and it can’t be too cold. The good thing is that we are in the middle of a drought and it’s super hot.”
The first day of paving was expected to be Wednesday, but rain postponed it.
