Two Hart County High School basketball legends, already inked in history, now have their names inscribed into the basketball gym court at the high school.
A ribbon-cutting to unveil Ensley-McCurley Court was held prior to the first home varsity basketball games of the year on Friday after the board of education voted in May to dedicate the court to the two decorated coaches.
“As a superintendent, this is a rare occasion because it is a lifelong accomplishment when you name a court or a building,” superintendent Jaybez Floyd said at the ceremony. “We’re very fortunate to have these men that we can honor tonight … This dedication is about two coaches who brought an unbelievable work ethic and positive attitude to their craft. We are celebrating two special people who shine with great character in their personal and professional lives. Coaches who were totally committed to the game, unconditional and loyal to those they represented. Coaches who balance their family lives with the challenges, strife and long hours to the very best of their abilities.”
